I am going back to my art.
I’m going back to poetry.
I’ve had enough the sophistry
Enough again the pedantry.

Philosophy I anguish with
Which sciences can never measure
Strong against the painted pleasure:
Things that only lovers treasure.

Solomon teach me what is good
Allow me knowledge what is right
Sustain me in the vaporous fight
Before I go to that good night.

Restore the poet of my soul
Though darkness falls upon us all;
Before we succumb to the pall
Bearing down upon each and all;
Before our calling in the roll.
